Indeed it has been long since I last wrote here, but much things have me less eager to write than it is.... 2005 has been much a sad year for me and my family.
Now, 4 and a half months into 2006, I am 4000km away from Malaysia, in this isolated city of Perth, Australia. In this senior hostel room which I got allocated for some reason, (no pictures by the way, I do not possess a camera) I have found a home away from home. Of course, the food could use a little fixing.....
Its been two months since I left Penang, and its now into the Easter holiday week, which is called study week, but almost nobody does any studying. Life here can get kinda monotonous after a while , but then I'm here to study not to holiday.
Temperature here may seem a bit weird, with low points of 5 degrees celsius in the morning (last Wednesday morning at 6 am) to peaks of 27 degrees celsius in the late afternoon, also in the same day. The greatest challenge here might be to actually survive a shower in the morning, and due to my 8 AM classes, i tend to take one at 6.30 AM. The weird sanitary systems over here mandates an extractor fan to extractor the water vapour that comes from the shower, and this creates an extremely cold updraft, which can make one shiver immediately after the hot water is turned off. Anyone care to try that at 6.30 AM?
Lecturers are an interesting lot, with a Dracula(A/Prof Stefanov) teaching Statistics in his Bulgarian accent, "zeh rhanzom vareeble of thee confedans intehvael......" , along with his weird counterpart in calculus (A/Prof Pentilla) who claims to be a direct descendant of the Bernoulli line through a series of nonsensical links, to the Accident Analysis Expert, Prof Stone of Engineering Dynamics Introduction.
What makes life interesting is my unitmates, there are 6 units in my dormitory wing called Argyll Wing, and each unit contains 5 people, a kitchen and a toilet. My unit is one of the oddest ones in that we are composed solely of Asians, Chinese to be exact. I am located in the middle, with a Bruenian Chinese with Malaysian Nationality living opposite me. On either side lies a Singaporean, formerly Malaysian and on the other side an Indonesian. On the far side lies another Singaporean. One of the unique things about being a solely asian unit is that the fridge is totally devoid of beer or alcohol whatsoever. On the shelves lies many packets of Indomee, which is currently the student favourite for instant noodles as it costs only AUD0.45 each. which is about MYR1.35.
Ah well, I'll continue on when I get somemore inspiration, its near 2 AM now, and by the way, Perth Australia is in the same time zone (i.e. +0800 GMT) as Malaysia and Singapore. That's to clear up doubts and the numerous questions I have been getting from people on MSN.

eh, speaking of temperature differences, its about the same in japan...except dat even the julat suhu is different everyday....n we dun hv 2 wake so early cuz 1st class is at 9 n the center is only 2 minutes' walk away :P

well, theres some reason y i wake this early, in that i go for breakfast at 7... and i tend to come back to this room and clean up till 7.30 before leaving.... i dun like the back seats so going early is an advantage:P

can eat haribo sweats and fall asleep
besides, I'll be the only one in the front if i sit there....
I wake up at 7.30 am, eat breakfast at 8.00, take bus for uni at 8.29, arrive uni at 8.58, sharp for 9am lectures.
My fren wakes up at 6 to walk to uni, which is absolutely absurd, dun wanna walk for 1 hr... :p

well, i used to wake up at 5am. but now, it's either 5.30 or 6. tried bathing at 5.30 at a temperature around that before and i know how it feels! ;P but now, it's getting warmer.
freaky weather here too. it can be more than 20 degrees on one day, and 10+ on the next day. it gets especially cold when it rains. for instance, yesterday. it rained the whole day. hands juz get frozen numb when going out.
